How To Put On Behind The Ear Hearing Aids (BTE) Author

Your hearing aids are colour coded with a dot on the outside of the hearing aid.
Red = right ear; Blue = left ear.

Hearing Aids With Domes

  1. Place the hearing aid over your ear so the dome is located at the opening of your ear.
  2. Hold the bend in the wire with your index finger and thumb.
    Where it attaches to the dome, gently push the dome into your ear canal. The wire should be flush against your head and not stick out.
  3. The hearing aid should feel comfortable and the wire should feel secure. If there is a retention piece, place it in your ear so it rests at the bottom of the opening of your ear canal.

Hearing Aids With Custom Domes

  1. Hold the custom dome between your index finger and thumb. The opening of the mold should be pointing towards your ear canal with the hearing aid resting above the ear.
  2. Insert the custom mold into the ear canal. The mold should fit snugly and comfortably.
  3. Place the hearing aid over the top of your ear. Ensure that everything feels secure and snug.

How To Connect Widex Hearing Aids With Your iPhone with Bluetooth

This guide works for most Widex Bluetooth enabled hearing aids. You can pair your Widex hearing aid to most Apple devices including iPhones, iPads & iPods.

Please ensure you have Bluetooth switched on with your iPhone, iPad or iPod.

  1. On your iPhone / iPad navigate to Settings and select General, Select Accessibility.
  2. Scroll down in the Accessibility menu until you see Hearing Devices and select it.
  3. Place your Widex hearing aids close to the device, open and close the battery doors on both hearing aids.
  4. The iPhone, iPad or iPod will automatically search for the Bluetooth connection. You will see a small spinning icon while the device searches for your hearing aids.
  5. The Name & Model of your hearing aids appear once found. A pop up message will appear asking you to “Pair” or “Cancel”. Please click “Pair”.
  6. Once selected the Widex Hearing aid will appear as a connected device.

How To Connect Your Hearing Aid To Widex TV Play

The Widex TV Play is compatible with the Widex Evoke & Moment hearing aids.

Step 1: Setting Up

  1. On the back of your TV, we will need to connect the to the Digital Audio Out and the plug in the USB power.
  2. On the TV play, please plug in the optical cable & the Micro USB.
  3. Turn on your TV and this will power up your TV Play.

Step 2: Pairing Your Hearing Aids

  1. Open and close the battery door compartment to turn them on/off.
  2. This will automatically pair the hearing aids with the Widex TV Play.
  3. Please open the Widex Evoke or Moment App.
  4. Click The TV Play icon on the App Home Screen.
  5. This will allow you to control the volume of the stream.

Step 3: Mounting The TV Play

You have the option to mount the TV play on the back of your TV or you can simply place it on the TV stand.

  1. To mount the TV Play, simply remove the protective film from the mount bracket.
  2. Stick the mount bracket to the back of your TV.
  3. You can now slide the TV Play onto the mount & will be completely invisible.

Alternatively the TV play can be left on your TV stand.

Troubleshooting:
1) If you do not see the TV Play connected on your App. Simply open and close the doors on your hearing aid. Wait 60 seconds until they re-connect with the TV Play.
2) If the connectivity persists please unpair your Widex hearing aids & the TV play. Once unpaired follow the steps to repair.

How To Change The Battery On Your Widex Hearing Aid

This guide can be used for the Widex Evoke, Unique and Dreams. The first step is to remove the old battery from the battery compartment.

  1. Open the door to the battery compartment.
  2. Turn the hearing aid upside allowing the old battery to fall out. If the battery does not fall out, gently remove it by poking the battery with a cleaning stick.
  3. Pick up a new battery with the stick provided, the stick is magnetised so it will make picking it up easy.
  4. Place the new battery in the battery holder. If the battery compartment does not close, you have inserted the battery incorrectly.
  5. Once the battery is in the compartment, simply remove the sticker & close the door.
