Grace Martin
MSc Audiology
Grace is a Tipperary native who joined Blackberry Hearing in September 2024. She recently completed an MSc in Audiology at University College Cork. Prior to this, Grace earned her BSc in Social Science, gaining experience as a Therapy Assistant before choosing a career in Audiology.
Grace has worked in acute and community clinics with adult and pediatric populations within the Irish healthcare system. Her previous assistance to a multidisciplinary healthcare team has provided invaluable insights into the universal benefits of audiological rehabilitation.
Grace is passionate about the positive impact of hearing aid intervention on cognitive function, social interaction, and overall quality of life. She is particularly interested in the growing body of knowledge around untreated hearing loss and its association with cognitive decline and dementia. She is driven, motivated, and finds great fulfillment in improving communication pathways for patients and their loved ones.
“I believe that addressing hearing loss is essential for individuals to ensure that lines of communication are maintained, as well as the auditory pathways that stimulate our brains. Taking action can change an individual’s life and alleviate processes associated with aging.”
Grace’s hobbies include playing camogie, running, listening to Irish music, and enjoying coffee with family and friends on the weekends.
