Information is collected when you book appointments, attend clinics, contact us, use our website, communicate via WhatsApp or our AI assistant, subscribe to marketing, or interact with our services. We may also receive information from healthcare professionals, family members acting on your behalf, referral partners and other appropriate sources.

Blackberry Hearing offers an AI-powered virtual assistant called Áine to help customers access information and support more quickly.

Áine may answer general enquiries, provide information about our services, help customers locate clinics, assist with appointment enquiries and booking, answer common questions and support customer service requests.

Conversations may be securely stored and reviewed by authorised Blackberry Hearing employees where necessary to provide customer support, improve service quality, investigate issues or ensure the safe operation of the system. Where appropriate, conversations may be transferred to a member of our customer care team.

Áine does not diagnose medical conditions, provide clinical advice or make treatment decisions. Clinical decisions are always made by appropriately qualified hearing care professionals.

We process information to provide hearing healthcare services, manage appointments, respond to enquiries, support AI interactions, communicate with customers, process payments, manage warranties, improve customer experience, improve our website and services, meet legal obligations, prevent fraud and send marketing where consent has been provided.

Processing is carried out under GDPR legal bases including contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests, consent (where applicable), and the provision of healthcare services including Article 9 GDPR for Special Category Data.

Health information is processed only where permitted under GDPR and Irish legislation and protected using enhanced security measures.

AI may assist with customer enquiries, appointment booking, navigation of services, conversation summaries and routing requests to staff.

Blackberry Hearing does not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Human oversight remains in place for customer care and all clinical decision-making.

We may share information with technology providers, CRM providers, appointment systems, secure cloud hosting providers, payment processors, SMS providers, WhatsApp (Meta), AI technology providers, professional advisers and regulators where legally required.

Where information is processed outside the EEA, appropriate safeguards are implemented in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Marketing communications are only sent where permitted. You may opt out at any time. Operational communications relating to appointments and services will continue where necessary.

Our website uses cookies to improve functionality and website performance. Please refer to our Cookie Policy for further details.

Personal information is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or to meet legal and regulatory obligations.
